Mobile Rotator Service

24/7 Rotator Service for Heavy Recovery & Repositioning
A semi on its side has to come back up. A trailer leaning into a ditch has to be stabilized before it can be moved. But a rotator doesn’t only come out when something has gone wrong. A shipping container may need to be placed, machinery may need to be lifted for a repair, or heavy equipment may need to be repositioned around a jobsite.
Blue Gray Towing uses our 35- and 50-ton rotators for both. We handle heavy recovery, uprighting, and stabilization as well as mobile lifting, placement, and repositioning throughout Western Maryland and South-Central Pennsylvania.
If the truck, trailer, equipment, container, or other load also needs to be transported, we have the towing and transport equipment to keep the job moving. Mobile rotator service is available 24/7.
When the Position of the Vehicle Changes the Recovery
Where a truck, trailer, or piece of equipment ends up can matter just as much as its size. A unit down an embankment can’t be approached the same way as one sitting upright on pavement. A trailer that’s leaning or a tractor-trailer on its side may need to be stabilized or lifted before it can be pulled.
Blue Gray’s rotators give our operators more ways to work with the position of the vehicle instead of relying on a straight pull. We use them for:

Uprighting Semis, Trailers & Commercial Vehicles
Putting a rolled truck or trailer back on its wheels has to be controlled throughout the recovery. The weight of the vehicle, its position, the condition of the ground, and the cargo inside the trailer can all impact how the unit is lifted and where recovery trucks can be positioned.
Our 35- and 50-ton rotators can be used alongside heavy wreckers and winching equipment to stabilize, lift, and reposition the truck or trailer. If freight has shifted or needs to be moved as part of the recovery, Blue Gray Towing can also handle load-shift corrections, cargo transfers, and other cargo recovery work.
Once the unit is upright and ready to move, we can handle the heavy duty towing from the scene.

Recovering & Repositioning Heavy Equipment
A machine can get stuck in soft ground, slide into a difficult position, overturn, or stop working where there isn’t enough room to simply load it onto a trailer.
Blue Gray uses our rotators, heavy wreckers, and winching equipment to recover and reposition heavy equipment when it can’t be moved normally. That may mean getting the machine back onto stable ground, bringing an overturned unit upright, or moving it into a position where it can be loaded for transport.
If it needs to leave the site, we also operate a Landoll, RGN lowboy, and two drop-deck trailers for heavy equipment transport.

On-Site Heavy Lifting & Repositioning
Not every rotator call involves a wreck or disabled vehicle. Blue Gray also provides mobile lifting and positioning at job sites, fleet yards, repair facilities, industrial properties, and other commercial locations.
Our 35- and 50-ton rotators can lift, move, or reposition heavy objects when they can’t simply be driven, rolled, or moved with the equipment available on site. We can also provide lifting support for loading and unloading, repair work, equipment placement, and other jobs that require controlled movement of a heavy load.
Shipping Container Lifting & Positioning
Shipping containers may need to be lifted for loading or unloading, moved to another part of a property, or repositioned where space around it is limited.
Blue Gray can use our rotators for container lifting, placement, and repositioning at commercial properties, yards, jobsites, and other locations. The rotator gives our operators the ability to lift and control the container while working with the space available at the site.

Machinery, Equipment & Repair Lifting
Some lifting jobs are about getting equipment where it needs to be rather than recovering it from an accident. Machinery may need to be repositioned at an industrial property, equipment may need help getting on or off a transport trailer, or a truck or trailer may need to be lifted or positioned so repair work can be completed.
Rotator support can include:
If the equipment also needs to leave the property, Blue Gray operates a Landoll, RGN lowboy, and two drop-deck trailers for transport.
Rotator Recovery in Tight & Difficult Areas
Recovery gets more complicated when there isn’t much room to work. Guardrails, slopes, embankments, soft ground, nearby structures, and the position of the disabled vehicle limit where recovery trucks can be placed and how the vehicle can be moved.
A rotator gives our operators another way to approach those jobs. The boom can be positioned for controlled lifting and movement while the recovery truck remains in a workable location. Depending on the scene, our operators can also bring in heavy wreckers and additional winching equipment to work alongside the rotator.
